Minister of Education L. Enkh-Amgalan and President of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST) T. Namnan met with Mr. Ali Kurt, the newly appointed Programme Coordinator of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) in Ulaanbaatar, to exchange views on expanding cooperation in education, science, technology, and innovation.
During the meeting, the parties highlighted TİKA's longstanding support for Mongolia's education sector and the positive outcomes of their cooperation over the years. In particular, they expressed their appreciation for TİKA's contributions to improving access to education and fostering inclusive learning environments through initiatives such as establishing specialized classrooms for students with special educational needs in general education schools and kindergartens, as well as establishing and equipping the Jazari Laboratory at MUST.

The parties also discussed opportunities for expanding their future cooperation by establishing a MUST FabLab Network, building on the experience of MUST's existing Jazari Laboratory, with the aim of gradually extending the initiative to regional areas. This initiative seeks to promote engineering creativity, technological education, and innovation while enhancing students' practical skills and competencies.
Furthermore, the meeting addressed the establishment of comprehensive STEM laboratories at the specialized secondary school for engineering and technology to be established under MUST. The parties also exchanged views on setting up a Zero Waste Training and Research Laboratory to improve environmental and waste management practices.

In addition, opportunities for strengthening human resource development were discussed, including providing Mongolian citizens with opportunities to pursue master's and doctoral degrees in specialized fields in Türkiye, as well as enhancing the professional capacities of teachers, researchers, and specialists.
The meeting also addressed the importance of ensuring access to education for children of Mongolian citizens living and working in Türkiye, including creating an educational environment in which they can learn both Mongolian and Turkish.
Since 2006, TİKA has implemented more than 950 projects in Mongolia, approximately 300 of which have focused on the education sector. The Jazari Laboratory, established at MUST with TİKA's support, serves as an important foundation for further cooperation in engineering and technology education.

This meeting was of great importance in expanding cooperation based on the results of previous partnerships, specifically focusing on developing STEM education, engineering training, research, and innovation environments, increasing technological education opportunities for local learners, and strengthening human resource capacity.
