COURSE DESCRIPTION: This lesson provides a comprehensive understanding of disaster awareness, risk management, and the role of government policies in disaster protection. Students will explore both natural (floods, droughts, and dzud (severe winter conditions), forest fires and lightning strikes, strong winds, storms and hurricanes, earthquakes and their impact on infrasturcture abd human lives) and human-induced disasters (fire hazards and safety measures, proper use, storage, and disposal of chemicals and household materials, classification and deffinition of toxic and hazardous substances), their impacts on human health and the environment, and strategies for disaster prevention, response, and mitigation. The course also covers safe handling of hazardous substances and measures to prevent disease transmission. |
