COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course trains students to professionally manage and monitor organizational networks using Linux-based operating systems through terminal environments. In the first part of the course, students will learn how to install the Ubuntu operating system, become familiar with the graphical user interface (GUI), and develop the skills to install and uninstall applications. In the second part, students will practice working in the terminal environment, mastering shell commands. Additionally, students will gain hands-on experience setting up and managing Linux and Windows servers on virtual machines and conducting network management tasks in a laboratory environment.

  1. Apply skills to create users and groups in Linux systems. (Apply)
  2. Design safe practices for working within network environments. (Design)
  3. Analyze and resolve system issues by monitoring processes and resources on Linux operating systems to maintain normal operations. (Analyse and Resolve)
  4. Calculate the feasibility of running specific functions reliably with minimal resources on widely used operating systems. (Calculate)
  5. Apply written and oral communication skills for preparing and defending independent project reports. (Apply)
  6. Execute Linux-based operating system skills through quizzes and practical tests. (Execute)
  7. Execute the assignment of administrative privileges to regular users in Linux operating systems and analyze and resolve user environment configurations. (Execute, Analyse and Resolve)
  8. Calculate the development of shell script files in a terminal environment. (Calculate)
  9. Execute common cyberattacks and detect them using intrusion detection systems (IDS). (Execute)
