MUST first signed Memorandum of Understanding with Sumitomo Corporation in 2010; since then, we updated the MOU in 2016, which helped to give financial assistance of 1,000,000 tugriks to twenty students every year. The award ceremony took place on the 4th of May, 2016, attended by Enkhjargal.Kh, Vice President for Education, Jargaltuya.P, Vice President for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Fujiwara Hiroto, the Corporation’s representative in Ulaanbaatar, Narantsatsral.S, manager and other officials.
Sumitomo Corporation is giving scholarship to about 1000 students of forty -one universities of eleven Asian countries; the total number of scholarship recipient from 1996 had reached 10,000. As of now, there are over 300 students in Mongolia.
Sumitomo Corporation first started its activities in Mongolia through the gold parting project in 1991. They created Mobicom corporation through its collaboration with NewCom and Japanesse KDII making thousand workplace in the market. In 2004, it had opened a new company that imports and sells LGP products instead of petroleum; whereas, another company importing mining equipment has been working since its opening in 2009.
