Motivation, Communication and Creativity: Teaching ESP to University Students

International conference-2017 ‘Motivation, Communication and Creativity: Teaching ESP to University Students’ for university English teachers was successfully organized by the Department of English Studies at the Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL), MUST on 20-21 January 2017 at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology.

The conference had three main sessions, including paper and poster presentations on research and practical issues, and workshops on teaching methodology. 150 teachers of Mongolian state and private universities actively participated in the conference and workshops. It was a great opportunity to share experiences and knowledge on teaching ESP for non-English majoring students at the universities of Mongolia.  

 

English Language Fellows from the USA and English teachers of Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST), National University of Mongolia (NUM), Mongolian National University of Education (MNUE),University of Humanities (UH), University of Finance and Economics(UFE), Mongolian University of Life Sciences (MULS), Otgontenger University, East Siberia State University of Technology and Management and Irkutsk State Agrarian University presented on teaching ESP methodology in the universities.

 

All the presenters and participants received the certificates approved by the IFL, MUST and Public Affairs Office, US Embassy in Mongolia.

We published the presentations in the Special Issue of ‘The Journal of Applied Linguistics’ (ISBN 978-9997-869-8-4) and handed out the publication to the presenters and guests.
