The Joint Bachelor degree and Preparation Kosen Training, a project of the “Higher Education for Engineering Technology” of the Mongolian and Japanese Governments was initiated at the New academic year ceremony 2015-2016 held on September 25th at the Mongolian University and Technology (MUST).
In attendance at the ceremony were L.Gantumur, Minister of Science Education and Culture; Shimizu Takenory, Japanese Extraordinary and Plenary Ambassador in Mongolia, Sato Mutsumi, Principal of Jaica International organization in Mongolia; Japanese representatives of 6 member schools and colleges; Rector B.Ochirbat of MUST, B.Nasanbayar, Head of the project and Principal of Affairs and Training Quality at the Ministry of Science Education and Culture, new students for the Joint Bachelor degree project, and the first and second course students from Cozen Training.
The aim of this project is not only to prepare 1000 engineers in Japan, the leader in engineering and technology, but also to prepare the engineering training level of MUST and National University of Mongolia (NUM) programs.
The students who are involved in the Joint Bachelor degree project will study 2.5 years in Mongolia at MUST, and 2 years at universities in Japan. They will get binary diplomas from each Mongolian and Japanese university, and will be trained to be skillful engineers in their industrial branches.
One of the most significant events during the ceremony was the Joint Bachelor degree training cooperation contract, which was signed between MUST and the Japanese universities consortium. In the contract, Rector B.Ochirbat represented MUST, Nagaoka Science and Technology School Rector Niikhara Koyuichi represented the Japanese universities consortium Vice-Principal Mikami Yoshiki represented the University.
The opening ceremony officially ended with the participants, meeting teachers and students, and going over the classes and curriculums for the Joint Bachelor degree and the Preparation Kosen Training.
Within the project “Higher Education for Engineering and Technology”, the representatives from the Japanese universities consortium, who support the Joint Bachelor degree training, exchanged their opinions with the representatives and teachers of MUST.
The consortium received Mongolian students, who had studied at MUST for 2.5 years, learning Japanese and taking professional foundation courses.
