E-Teacher Alumni in English Teaching Workshop-Seminar in Korea

Mr. BATJARGAL Dendevdorj, English Language teacher at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology Darkhan School of Technology, also alumni of Department of State E-Teacher program on English for Specific Purposes (ESP) Winter 2014, had been selected to participate in the “Globalization and Language Education” English teaching workshop-seminar during August 11-13, 2014 in Seoul, South Korea.

The goal of the seminar was to plan and implement viable small-scale regional and local online English teaching projects and to establish a network between participants of this E-teacher scholarship.  The seminar was organized for 50 in-service English teachers from various East Asian countries and Oceania who had successfully finished their E-teacher scholarship programs during previous years.
The workshop was led by Northwest and Oregon University instructors, conducting lectures, discussions, and educational role-playing among participants.  Mr. Batjargal said, “Through the lectures given by professors from the previously mentioned U.S. universities participants were able to find ways to diversify class atmosphere, which is an area many East Asian classrooms tend to neglect or overlook altogether.  Participants were exposed to practical examples from the professors and other educators that offered abundance of ideas.”
